Tales of two kitties uprooted from Ft. Worth, Texas to live in Colorado Springs, then back to Ft Worth, then to Oklahoma City, back to Texas, etc., etc. (you get the idea). The joys of having yur Daddy in the Air Force.
The Light Beams
The patch for Ten House
(note the Twin Towers the fireman is standing on)

Sean Patrick "Charger" Tallon was one of those such men. At 26, he had only a month or so left of being a "probie" (a probationary firefighter). Sean was one of the first responders, along with the other members of Ten House. Their station was right across the street from the World Trade Center. On the way up the stairs of Tower One, Sean helped a fellow firefighter that was having a heart attack, then he continued up with two more of his fellow firemen. They were trapped when Tower One collapsed.
Sean led an active and varied life. He was a Marine Corps Reservist. He also loved Irish music and playing the button accordion. He would practice for an hour or more on many evenings. The steady, easy flow of sweet hornpipes, tasty reels, and lively jigs would fill the house.
This is part of a song that was written for Sean, and was played at his funeral:
"Up the stairs boys, running to the top
Without a thought to slow or stop
Upstairs boys on 9/11 and they kept on going
to the gates of Heaven.
With the men of Ten House was Sean Tallon...
Although he wasn't the first, he wasn't the last...
With love of God and Country he never thought he could
see such acts of hate...
As we remember our Charger and the others
and shed a mournful tear for all his fallen brothers,
Although we didn't know them all,
we knew them well enough to know what they were made of...
And that was hero stuff.
written by Dereen and Marian Griffin
Sean left behind his parents, grandparents, sister and brother-in-law, and extended family in the United States, England, and Ireland, along with many friends. He is greatly missed by all.
May you rest in peace Sean Patrick Tallon. I would like to offer up this blessing:
Traditional Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind always be at your back,
The sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
Thank you for all that you and your brothers do and have sacrificed for all of us! You and yours will be in my prayers. ~Rebecca Buchenot

This am Emmy (short for Esmerelda, like in The Hunchback of Notre Dame). Momma and Daddy decided on that name 'cause she lives like a gypsy. Isn't she cute?? Momma likes her ear. She has a very sweet purr-sonality. She "lives " wif the family 2 doors up....but that don't take furry good care of her. So...Momma's been feeding her and making a warm place to sleep for the past few weeks on our porch.
Momma!! But she offered to take Emmy if they didn't want her. The people sed that Emmy "doesn't like to be in the house" and that's why she's always outside. But, she keeps tryin' to come in our house!! Those people are moving too. Their 5 year old came to get Emmy, but she ran from him. Momma finks that that is why Emmy doesn't like to be inside! They also used to have a Pit Bull woofie!! Eeek! So Momma tol them "I don't want to take your pet from you, but.... and I don't mind looking after her while you move and decide what to do with Emmy. Just let me know." So.....it sounds like Emmy might be moving in wif us shortly. She camed into the house this morning and Momma held her and snuggled wif her and Emmy just
purred and purred. But, 'afore she comes in to live, Momma's gotta take her to the V-E-T to have her checked out. Wish us luck.....we're not sure about each ofur...let alone a new poodin!
louder than Kiara!! They'll have a lot to talk about next summer when we come wif Momma to stay wif Grammie and Grampie. Gabby wuz an outside poodin' afore she camed to live wif Grammie after Shadow went to the Bridge. BTW...she just hadded her 'surgery' in this picture. That's why she's missin' some fur on her leg and her tummy.

Momma wuz furry busy today. Here are a few of the fings she put in the dirt. She also planted a tom-a-toe, a straw-berry, snappy-dragons (but I didn't see the dragons..yet), and moved ofer stuffs around. I wuz all tired out just watchin' her. But, after she did all the plantin', she started to not feel so good again. :-( Poor Momma. Guess we'll have to be nurses for a little while longer. Daddy's all better tho. And he's here tonight an gonna take care of her too. ~Meeko
