This am Emmy (short for Esmerelda, like in The Hunchback of Notre Dame). Momma and Daddy decided on that name 'cause she lives like a gypsy. Isn't she cute?? Momma likes her ear. She has a very sweet purr-sonality. She "lives " wif the family 2 doors up....but that don't take furry good care of her. So...Momma's been feeding her and making a warm place to sleep for the past few weeks on our porch.
The ofur day, the road got re-paved in front of our house...Emmy walked through it and now has tar on her paw fur and belly. Momma wented and talked wif the people about Emmy. She wuz kinda rude she said...heehee, go Momma!! But she offered to take Emmy if they didn't want her. The people sed that Emmy "doesn't like to be in the house" and that's why she's always outside. But, she keeps tryin' to come in our house!! Those people are moving too. Their 5 year old came to get Emmy, but she ran from him. Momma finks that that is why Emmy doesn't like to be inside! They also used to have a Pit Bull woofie!! Eeek! So Momma tol them "I don't want to take your pet from you, but.... and I don't mind looking after her while you move and decide what to do with Emmy. Just let me know." So.....it sounds like Emmy might be moving in wif us shortly. She camed into the house this morning and Momma held her and snuggled wif her and Emmy just purred and purred. But, 'afore she comes in to live, Momma's gotta take her to the V-E-T to have her checked out. Wish us luck.....we're not sure about each ofur...let alone a new poodin!
BTW.....Mimi is still in the hospital (as far as we know). Momma is gonna call her in a little while and will update more then. (Update: Mimi feels sorta OK...pretty sore from efurrything. They still don't know when she'll get to go home. She's been there for a week now!) Thanks efurryone for your prayers and well wishes!

she shur is purrty. how awful that those people don't take care of her. they should not be allowed to take her back 'acause they don't watch after her.
what a purrty mess of colors she is! how's the tar gonna get off her furs an paws? what if she was in yur house an then the nayburr was lookin fur her an you said ya hadn't seen her an then...oh...is that lyin? well, maybe ya better not do that then. or at least don't admit to it...
We agree wif y'all! Grr, Midnight, & Cocoa....that thought already crossed Momma's mind!!! SHe called a V-E-T about the tar...she tried trimming some of the furs on her paws and using mineral oil. But, it wuz hard for her to do by herself.

I hopes Emmy gets to stay with you. I'mm glad your Momma said something. She doesn't seem furry happy where she is.
Miss Emmy looks kind of sad. I hope you can help her and give her a good life. I'm sure you will do the best thing for her.

PS - mom sez Dawn dish soap is what they use on the seals and ducks what get in oil spills. Maybe it will work on Miss Emmy's paws.
You are doing a great thing Lone Stars! She is a beautiful cat and she needs a GOOD home! We can't figure out what is worse: a pit bull or a 5 year old!
That situation is just like ours with Tiger. He is the neighbors cat but he pees in the house cause he's diabetic so they threw him out to find for himself. Mom feeds him and made him a shelter and he seems to be out kitty now. But he has to stay outside. Mom just made it as cosy & cushy as she can for him and he is grateful. He goives lots of purrs & headbutts. Oh keep that kitty!
Goodness. What a horrible lifestyle for a cat that should be so beautiful and vibrant. I personally just have something against animals living completely outside - why do people have them as pets at all if the animals spend all their time outside?
Especially cats...
You are a great person for looking out for the welfare of Emmy. I hope these people can work things out with you and realize what you're offering to them.
